Leigh Foxx

Band 0002 Layer 4

Leigh Foxx has surpassed the 20-year mark as Blondie’s bassist. His relationship with Debbie Harry and Chris Stein spans over 30 years as it began when he joined Debbie’s solo band and first performed with them on Saturday Night Live in January, 1987.
Two decades prior, Leigh’s career in music started as a high school teenager from Vauxhall (Union), New Jersey playing drums and bass in his rock and roll band, which opened for many recording acts of the day. The summer of 1967 they played weekend matinees at the famous Café Wha in Greenwich Village.

It wasn’t long before Leigh’s musical pursuits took him to Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He settled in Cambridge and joined The Sidewinders who were signed by RCA Records in 1971 after reps noticed them at Max’s Kansas City in New York.
Eventually, Leigh moved back to the New York area and enjoyed recording and touring with such artists as Tom Rush, Patti Smith, Benny Mardones, Randy Van Warmer, Karen Lawrence (produced by Jack Douglas), Scandal, Holly & The Italians, Lori Chacko, Yoko Ono, Debbie Harry, Cyndi Lauper, Iggy Pop, Henry Lee Summer, Chris Whitley and Blondie.

Leigh is also a songwriter with credits on The Sidewinders, The Paley Brothers, and Debbie Harry and Blondie albums.
