On this stage, after around 7pm there will be first come first served walk up slots available for "Unsung Heroes" wishing to play GuilFest 2004; any musicians (15 minutes slot) or comedians (5 minute slot) wanting to secure a slot will only be able to do so by booking one with the stage manager for this stage from Noon on the day itself.

KidZone - Under 10s get in free, see www.guilfest.co.uk for information about the performers in this area

The festival gates are due to open at Noon on the Friday, with the Comedy starting at 2pm and all four music stages running from 5pm to 11pm. The gates open late morning on the Saturday and Sunday, with the 4 music stages running from Noon until 11pm on Saturday and 9pm on Sunday - the Comedy starts at 2pm on all three days. The campsite and camper van area will be open from 10am on the Friday, with them having to be cleared on Monday morning. The car park, adjacent to the festival site, is free.

The festival started in 1992 with several hundred people attending; GuilFest 2004 has a capacity of 45000 people (15000 per day). GuilFest 2003 was the most successful to date: 37000 people attended over the weekend. Previous acts, over the last twelve years, have included Madness, James, Pulp, Alice Cooper, The Darkness, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Jools Holland, Daniel Bedingfield, Atomic Kitten, Pretenders, David Gray, Van Morrison and Jamie Cullum among many others. For more information about GuilFest, see www.guilfest.co.uk.

The festival also features a 150 foot long Beer Tent (100 foot in 2003), a craft village, cuisines from around the world, good disabled access and a great adjacent campsite. Next to the festival is the Guildford Lido, an outdoor swimming pool, set in wonderful grounds, great for swimming, sunbathing and showers. Also, across the road is Guildford's Spectrum, a state of the art sports centre with swimming, ten-pin bowling, badminton, a running track and, most importantly, great showers. Both the Lido and Spectrum are run independently of the festival and charge to use their facilities.
