Blondie Gig List

A partial list of Blondie concerts and appearances, including interview schedules, travel schedules, TV, radio and press appearances, and some relevant dates as comments.

Since the enormity of this project makes it impossible to have a truly complete list (read Chris Stein's comments on this project), we welcome your additions or corrections. There's room for gig flyers, ticket stubs, etc., so if you wish to contribute, please scan your item at 150-300dpi (for small items) or 72dpi or 75dpi (for larger items) and email us the image or a URL to the image. Please send all scans, additions, or corrections to Barry L. Kramer.

Special thanks to Chris Stein for giving us access to the itineraries in his personal collection.

Blondie opened for Alice Cooper. Someone who attended wrote this: "At this show there was some idiot yelling 'Boo Blondie off stage...they're PUNK.' There was booing at first. By the end of the second song most of the crowd had been won over. By the end of the third song, those that didn't like it had shut up. By the end of the set, I don't remember anyone not liking the group (not just because they were finished either)." (ticket stub) Concert

12-Aug-78 Bilzen Rock/Jazz Festival
Bilzen —  Belgium
This date isn't listed in Blondie's itinerary, but The Kinks archivist Doug Hinman indicates this gig with Blondie; Radio Stars; Little Bob Story; Tyla Gang; Japan; Lindisfarne (this is also supported by the "History" link on the Bilzen website which indicates the festival was August 10-13). This is the first gig of the tour, but someone who attended writes: "Blondie only played once. On the 12th. It was not a normal concert. The band was in London for an exhibition. The band flew over to Bilzen. We had a cancellation of Lou Reed, if I remember correctly. The band had no instruments here. We hired the instruments. It was a "surprise act". The band was not on the bill. This explains why the concert doesn't figure in the itineraries."  Concert
