Parallel Lines Tour - Kevin Staying Home

We just heard from Kevin Patrick, who sends this note: "Let the troops know the Kdog's gonna have a pup and he's gotta keep close to home to field off any predators for this round." In other words, Kevin's going to be a father! He's not going on tour so he can be with his wife this summer. Kevin also said to mention he is available for any questions or comments at his new email address - kevpatrick at mac dot com Congratulations to the Patricks from the staff at Blondie.net!

Dublin airport heading home

Its been non stop for six weeks, still dont know how Debbie does it I mean we have to throw down but she really delivers those songs. Lastnight was the last show in Belfast which we thought was going to be a real kind of sit down show until we kicked up Maria and there was a huge rush of people to the stage. You guys were electric lastnight, thanks for being such amazing fans of Blondie. I didnt write these songs but Im astounded by the family of people that travel to see us at aeach show. Bob and Andrea, always a great pleasure to see you both. You guys are like my parents in Europe when you come to the shows, yes I got some ink (tattoos) since you saw me last but no worries, im still a good kid (heh heh heh). And Clare and Gary, anytime on the photo. Keep the manual in case you ever decide to be a keyboard player. Every show on this tour was sold out and the many many repeat fans at the shows. It was a great to show to end on, also the two nights in Dublin we'll remember for a long long time. The Olympian being such an old theatre had so much character and vibe, and Chris, thanks for the attempted hook ups with mine and Steins psp2's. (Sony came to a show and gave us free psp's. Friggin great machine. I dig the wifi internet hook up while playing Grand Theft Auto, might even ditch my ipod? hmmm, maybe not)I seized Steins copy of Grand Theft Auto and gotta say, addicted. Probably be nailin' it all the way back to the states. Dublin has always been one of my favorite cities, great people, good food, and never ending beer. Walked to the theatre the other night and right over the foot bridge entering Temple bar (district in Dublin) these two guys were rappin' on the street with a boom box about the holy ghost while this guy was playing traditional irish folk melodies on a harmonica. People are throwing back Guinesses at 7 am, good to be irish. Coffee tastes great right now, black and strong. Going to cook a big ass Turkey , shrimp cocktails, pick up a case of wine and champagne, and make a big dinner for Christmas eve. Next stop is The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band is looking forward to a bit of a break, Id like to be doing another show tomorrow night but a well deserved rest is needed I suppose. Guess Ill keep writing some more songs and theres a few artists that want me to produce them in January. Keep the ball rollin out, you guys rocked, To all the fans and amazing people Ive met on this tour, merry xmas to you and to all a Happy and Safe New Year. Ill be at the Black Crowes concert hanging with Mark Newman, best sound man to ever walk this planet (plus a helluva Dana Carvey look alike). BTW, noodles have a drink for me. and another, then another , then another....

SHeffield CIty Hall lastnight

Cant believe how great the City Hall looks. Last time we played here it was looking kind of shabby. Think I liked the shabby look better! Good show, great sound in that room. went out afterwards to a great pub with the band and Hugh's band had a few pints (maybe one too many by how Im feelin today) Ive got another intense craving for Indian Food, saw a few places along the path lastnight, need to find the best one. Vindaloo, 7 alarm ,hot and spicy. Thanks for the concerns on my foot, its all good. Something Ill have looked at when I get home, nothing extreme. Speaking of extreme, pick up the last edition of Q magazine. The interview with Little Britain is a gas, he talks about the episode where he puts the senior lady's foot in his mouth as he tries to shag her and she was so self conscious for the skit that in prep. lotioned her dogs up with Aloe Vera. Imagine sucking on feet lubed up with Aloe Vera? hmmm.Day off today, wish we were playing. Its like you just start to get rolling and then Break.Check out a local Sheffield band called the Long Blondes.http://www.myspace.com/thelongblondes I really like their style. Post Blondie, Suzy Quatro kind of vibe. guess Ive babbled enough , need to hit the gym again and have a proper bite. Thanks for reading, yours K

Sheffield

I was told this was a steel mining town...had a good laugh when I fell and cracked my ass demounting the riser lastnight. Rock doc showed up, wanted to do surgery on my foot before the show? straaange things are starting to happen. Wonder how my dog is? wrote a couple of new songs, lets see, Switched from a 122 leslie to a pro 3 iso cab, band feels and sounds tighter then it ever has, audiences are electric, sold out shows, these old theatres are pretty amazing to explore backstage before the show, ok, enough monotonous babble, time for soundcheck. until the next one...K

Blackpool to Aberdeen

Some said that this was the best show yet..Great audience and Id like to say a big thanks to all the fans for being such great audiences to play too, keep screaming and dancing and we'll keep sending it back to you harder and harder. It'll be a quick ride from Edinburgh, Im going to hunt down a few movies for the bus like Death In Venice, Excorcist 3 (Emily Rose), next series of Little Britain (I read that theyre touring now as well,it would be very cool to meet them at some point, Will they bring back the Scottish Inn Keeper though! Thats my fav. skit!) If you have any good bus movies donate, bring them to the gig and I'll check them out on some of these long rides. Everyones geared up here for the R&R Hall of Fame. That gig is going to be stellar, email us with who you would liike to see induct Blondie, it would be interesting to see what you the fans have to say. Gonna finish the night by kicking back, playing my guitar and watching some soccer.

Peace to you and All the best,Night.

Bristol,Bournemouth,Brighton,Southend

Im tapping this out from the hotel lobby waiting for the bus to go to Reading. Heres a rundown of the past four gigs, great, blazing, fantastic, and exciting. The fans have been nothing less then electric. The travels have been short, were staying based out of London and doing day drives. Thanks for all the emails and fan mail. I try to get back to all of them, if I dont respond just resend and Ill get in the next batch! Also, if you send them to www.myspace.com/mazepatrick I can get them there as well. Ill recap the Royal Albert Hall gig on the 23rd, such a feeling to grace the stage of where so many legends played before us. Looking out from the stage to a sold out show of screaming fans into one of the most majestic theatres Ive ever seen was the best high. The after show party at KOKOs blew (sucked) security kept people outside to give it that "exclusive" club vibe, hassled us as well, finally got inside and the dance floor was dead because everyone was outside! So I apologize to all who had after show passes and felt the experience wasnt what they expected and know that we the band had nothing to do with that scene. After all, if it werent for you guys, we wouldnt have had the experience we had at RAH that night. Finally kicked the Jet Lag, slept for 13 hours last night after watching Bob Dylan from backstage at Brixton Academy, Thanksgiving. Had a bowl of Penne Bolognese at Dinos before the show and snagged a piece of Pumpkin pie at catering / Dylan show. His band was great, had a real New Orleans feel to the set. I remember once in NYC I was rehearsing with Kelly Levesque on Warner Bros at the time (Hip Hop R&B artist) and as I was entering the building theres this guy on the sidewalk in a pair of ripped up jeans and a hooded sweatshirt, leather jacket, which asks me for a smoke. (Years ago so I had one on me), so I gave him a couple and went inside. After a break a couple hours later I go to the lobby and theres this same guy on the couch and he asks me again for a smoke. So I give him the pack and I sit down as he asks me about the band I was playing with. I give him the run down, pop R&B gig. I’m just gunning for the label on this one etc. Before I know it its time to go in so we say goodbye and he gets up and goes into the other rehearsal space. The owner comes out, a friend of mine Keith, and says, So what were you and Dylan rapping about? There ya have it. Anyway, tonights gig will be kick ass; shows have been sold out thanks again to the fans for all that. Debs gives a big Kiss out to you guys. BTW, also want to say to all those fans that wrote in about the local hot spots to the cities on this tour much appreciated and cheers. All the best till the next Blog, cheers.

Plymouth to BRISTOL

Last nights show in Plymouth was a mixed energy vibe. When did the law get passed that people cant stand up during a show? Maybe we should sit down in chairs on stage as well. Its pretty lame when your playing your ass off then look into the front row and there is a secutity guard holding someone down by the shoulders restraining them to their seat. Its not the audience, just the venue policy. Oh well, thats my lack of acknowledgement for authority side speaking up. Probably better in some venues so people dont get slammed around. Other than that the music was on key, band sounded tight, Chris drops this F bomb solo in the middle of Rapture that could go on for about ten more minutes and the fans would still eat it up. Sonic madness. Just got into Bristol, still working with jet lag sleeping about 2-3 hours then staying up for 8 and sleep for 2. Kind of cool to see the sunrise every morning though, think Ill ride it out until the end of the tour. Been working on some new tunes, and cant wait to see the turnout here in Bristol tomorrow night! Until then, cya. KMP

NORWICH

Played in Norwich lastnight, saw many of the rock steadys in the front row. Theres a new vibe to the set this time around, new songs etc but Im not spilling any more your just going to have to witness it for yourself. The trip over was quick, had a stop in Dublin for a tv show then shot over to London! This tour is going to be non stop so be ready for it! We're geared up and excited about this round, If any one can recommend any after gig spots or parties, drop me a line as Im always looking to hang after the shows and check out the local nightlife. On my end, Ive been taking the time we had off to do alot of writing and producing mostly in NYC. CHeck out this band www.misuniverse.net, been listening to alot of Clem Snide, Desmon Dekker a guy from my neighborhood Amos Lee,Queen (you know sometimes you just have to go back to those albums!) Bullfrog (Check out Rop-a-dope), Garden State Album, Eternal Sunshine Soundtrack, but most of all the spin that I have going on right now is ,Garbage Bleed Like Me. F*$#ing Brilliant,Also, does any one have the Jon Brion copy of Fiona Apples new album? Let me know. Hit me up with some of your favorite bands, hair color, serial killers, whatever. See you at the shows. Also, heres a hunt for all you looking for the cool and obscure. Theres a movie called "Bookwars". Its an indie done by an NYU student during the 80's. its a doc, so try to sit through it but you'll get a vibe for an untouched culture in NYC that most people (Except Chris Stein) would know about. Going to get some indian food and play my guitar all night.....cya...K
